Audiology Services in Denver City, TX

At Compass Hearing Center in Denver City, Texas, we offer a wide range of hearing aid services, including hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid fitting and dispensing, rechargeable hearing aids, and in-office hearing aid repairs. We also offer specialized testing and Electrophysiology equipment. Your path to better hearing begins here!
Hearing Aid Evaluations
This evaluation is completed after the patient has participated in a hearing evaluation and is deemed a candidate for hearing aids. Once the audiologist has reviewed your hearing test, appropriate hearing aid technology, styles, and prices will be discussed. Your audiologist may program hearing aids for you to wear while listening to speech and tones through the speakers in the sound booth. Your scores while using your hearing aids are compared to the hearing test you completed without using hearing aids.
You and your audiologist will review the results and discuss the benefits to determine which hearing aid is most appropriate for you. If you choose to purchase hearing aids, a mold of your ear may be taken at this appointment, depending on the style selected.
Hearing Aid Purchases
We work with most major hearing aid manufacturers to fit and dispense a variety of hearing aids. Once an appropriate hearing aid has been selected, a deposit is required before the hearing aid will be ordered. A deposit of at least 50% of the purchase price is required to order the hearing aid; however, you may pay the full amount at the time of ordering if you choose. The balance will be collected at the time of dispensing. We accept all forms of payment including cash, check, HealthiPlan financing, and all major credit cards.
Rechargeable Hearing Aids
Never change a hearing aid battery again! We are excited to offer our patients the convenience of the Widex hearing aids which are fully featured hearing aids with a built in Lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The rechargeable hearing aids offer 24 hours of battery life on a single charge. With rechargeable hearing aid batteries, our patients benefit by having hassle-free hearing without having to change batteries or carry extra batteries with them. Contact us for more information or to schedule an appointment for a hearing test with Dr. Shannon Parker.
Hearing Aid Fittings
Once your hearing aids arrive, you will be scheduled for a hearing aid fitting. At this appointment our audiologist will go over the basic parts of a hearing aid, instruct you on how to insert and remove the hearing aid, and discuss how to clean and care for your new hearing aid. Adjustments may be made based on your initial impressions. Any remaining balance due will be collected at this time.
Hearing Aid Follow Ups
At the end of your dispensing, a follow-up appointment will be scheduled to assess your progress and to make any adjustments needed as determined by you and the audiologist. Subsequent follow-ups may be scheduled for routine maintenance of your devices. At any time if problems arise you may contact the audiologist for assistance.
Hearing Aid Service & Contract
A portion of your hearing aid purchase covers supplies and professional service fees. When you purchase hearing aids from Compass Hearing Center, we provide service to you for the life of the hearing aid. All hearing aids come with a manufacturer’s warranty and repairs are typically covered under this warranty. After the warranty expires, a fee may be assessed depending on the type of repair required. Adjustments to the sound quality of hearing aids purchased at Compass Hearing Center are always included in the price of your hearing aids.
If you previously purchased your hearing aids elsewhere, we are happy to work with you. However, a significant portion of your hearing aid purchase was paid to the original dispenser for programming adjustments and fine tuning. They were paid in advance for their service and we were not. You will have the option to pay an hourly rate for each time an adjustment is requested or you may purchase a service contract - a flat rate which allows us to assume care for your hearing aid adjustments with unlimited visits. Please contact us to discuss the make and model of your hearing aid to know if your hearing aid qualifies for this service.
Specialized Testing & Equipment
Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs)
OAEs are responses from the inner ear in the normal hearing process that can be elicited by tonal stimulus and detected by a small microphone placed into the ear canal. This technique is used to screen inner ear function and to determine the need for further evaluation. OAEs are commonly used during infant hearing screenings.
